This 8 inch Water Jug is one of a pair of early Swansea Pottery Jugs decorated by Thomas Pardoe . The jug painted in an Imari style is showing the same decoration as a Swansea pottery strainer which was displayed at the Swansea Museum during the Swansea Pottery Collectors Exhibition 2006 and is shown in Helen Hallesys book cataloging the exhibits on page 30 For one of the jugs to survive in this condition is a rare occurrence but for two to survive undamaged for over 200 yrs is remarkable . The other jug slightly smaller is being sold separately or can be purchased as a pair Both in excellent condition. Thomas Pardoe worked at the Cambrian Pottery between 1795 and 1809 dating this jug between those dates £ 625.00
