A Swansea Pottery named view creamware plate decorated by Thomas Pardoe. Decorated with 'A View Near Neath Glamorganshire', written in Pardoes recognisable script to the reverse. Examples of Swansea Pottery with named views in Wales are rare, this example decorated with what appears to be the ruins of an abbey, possibly Neath Abbey which is situated near the river Neath. A similar plate can be found in 'Welsh Ceramics in Context' part 1 page 87 by Jonathan Gray which is in the City & County of Swansea Collection. Impressed Swansea. It has a small chip to rim as can be seen in pictures. SOLD £ 0.00
