A fine Porcelain plate from the Nantgarw china works decorated in London with a Derby style three rose central decoration with the matching border of six groupings of seven roses surrounded by rich gilding. W.D. John in his book Nantgarw Porcelain Album states this service was probably painted by James Turner at the Sims Workshop London and a plate from this service is shown illustration 40. Examples from this service invariably have wear to the gilding This example is in excellent condition with no wear, it bears a sticker to the back from the Harry Sherman collection Circa 1818-20 Impressed Nantgarw C W £ 950.00
