A rare pair of Nantgarw Porcelain plates from a service illustrated in W D Johns Nantgarw Album illustation 25 where it gives the following description. This 35-piece Nantgarw dessert service was identified by the authors in an American Art Gallery in 1948 and is of superb quality, being richly ornamented with garden flowers and gilding by London decorators. It was presented to the Art gallery in 1940 as the gift of Mrs. Mary G Ellis as part of the Theodore and Mary Ellis Collection IN THE WORCESTER ART GALLERY, MASSACHUSETTS, U S A. SOLD One plate impressed Nantgarw the other unmarked These plates are in excellent condition with only the smallest of gilt loss as shown in the photos £ 2100.00
