A Rare Nantgarw Porcelain cup and saucer by William Billingsley The late David Phillips an expert on Nantgarw porcelain studied this form of decoration and displayed similar items in his reviews Swansea and Nantgarw. In review number two he looks at this style of decoration in great depth, he called it "Billingsleys Green urn period " The cup with the inverted heart handle and the saucer with typical ground base is potted in the finest Nantgarw porcelain and would have been decorated at the factory . Not many items were decorated at the Nantgarw as it was always Billingsleys intention to sell the china made at the factory to the London decorating establishments This cup and saucer is in good condition with only some wear to the gilding on the saucer otherwise in fine condition Circa 1817 - 20 SOLD £ 750.00
