This Nantgarw Porcelain plate ( 8 1/2 inch ) was locally decorated at the Nantgarw china works by Thomas Pardoe. Similar decoration can be found on an example at "The Victoria & Albert Museum London " number 3524-1901. Other examples of Pardoe decoration with similar subjects can be found in "Nantgarw Porcelain" by W D John illustrations 54a & 54b. A shell dish with similar work by Thomas Pardoe can be found on our website. Impressed Nantgarw cw the plate has minor wear to the gilding otherwise in excellent condition Circa 1820-23 SOLD £ 1750.00
