A Nantgarw Porcelain Plate 8 1/4 inch. Part of this service was sold by Dreweatts at their Donnington salesroom in 2009, they attributed the decoration probably decorated by Thomas Pardoe but I believe the service was decorated in London. Provence for this service, "It was acquired directly from the Marquess of Bute from Cardiff Castle in 1943" by Cyril Kieft Esq. Illustration 68 in The Nantgarw Porcelain Album by W D John shows a plate from this service where it is correctly described as decorated in London and states " This plate has the extraordinary visual effect of a high glaze Chinese lacquered" In fine condition Circa 1818-20 Impressed Nantgarw c.w £ 1650.00
