Large Cambrian Pottery, Thomas Pardoe decorated meat platter. SOLD
A Large Cambrian Pottery oval meat platter decorated by Thomas Pardoe. A Punch bowl with this decoration is illustrated in " The Pottery & Porcelain of Swansea & Nantgarw " by E Morton Nance on plate XX. figure A. Nance states the Bowl is marked Cambrian in gold, and has precisely the same decoration as was used on dinner-ware painted by Pardoe during the same period, some of it marked Swansea impressed. It also bears an old sticker applied by Harold Davies of 'West Wales Antiques' a gentleman who probably new more about Welsh Ceramics than anyone. Illustration 4 is meant to give you an impression of its size. 56 x 41 cms. 22 X 16 inch approx. This Platter is in excellent condition and bears the impressed Swansea mark. SOLD
